After initially providing access to Disney's popular online games and e-books to Smart, the Disney Interactive portfolio will now be offered at home through PLDT's home digital services unit PLDT HOME.
This latest offering allows PLDT HOME subscribers to access over 300 online games through the Disney Portal, which will be hosted in the PLDT HOME website www.pldthome.com. In addition, PLDT HOME Telpad subscribers will be able to download hundreds of Disney games and e-books by just clicking the Disney widget on their Telpads.
"These new services form part of the growing Disney portfolio being offered by the PLDT Group across multiple touch points, enabling avid fans to experience the multi-screen Disney magic on their smartphones, tablets, laptops, and computers," PLDT and Smart President and CEO Napoleon Nazareno said.
The PLDT Group was the first Philippine telco to enter into a content partnership with Disney that allowed its various units such as PLDT HOME and Smart to deliver Disney content to their subscribers.
“We started our transformation as a multimedia company several years ago, enabling PLDT today to provide customers the most comprehensive multi-screen experience to users nationwide,” said Nazareno.
Digital ‘Disney’ magic
In this new offer, PLDT HOME subscribers can purchase limited edition Telpad skins featuring the most popular Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Cinderella and the Avengers among others. Additionally, PLDT HOME Telpad subscribers will be able to access the most sought-after games like Princess Story, hundreds of e-books plus PLDT HOME DSL speed boost when they subscribe to the Disney package.
Smart subscribers, meanwhile, can download Disney’s biggest and latest mobile games for Android and Java phones through the GameX portal (gamex.ph/Disney). This includes titles such as Marvel Avengers Alliance, Frozen Free Fall, and Big Hero 6 Bot Fight, among others. Users can conveniently purchase the games using their prepaid credits or charge it on top of their postpaid bills.
Aside from games, kids can also enjoy a vast collection of interactive e-books and educational materials from Smart, where they can have a fun time engaging with their favorite Disney characters while learning at the same time. Interactive coloring books will also be available so children can bring Disney characters to life with just a touch of their finger.
Students and festival-goers all around the country could also expect Smart to bring the Disney magic closer to their schools and cities through exciting events and competitions to be mounted to test their skills in beating the top scores on various Disney mobile games.
Smart will also be releasing Disney-branded content packages for prepaid, postpaid and broadband plans, enriching the overall experience of subscribers with a full suite of games, apps and e-books.
