Road workers knock out 1500 phones in Quezon City

Manila, March 16, 2007… Around 1500 telephones in Quezon City went out of order recently due to a major cable trouble according to PLDT.

The telephone lines, which numbers start with  425, 426, 920, 924, 925, 926, 927, 928, 929, 442, 259 and 990, are located at barangays Ramon Magsaysay, Alicia, Sto Cristo and Bago Bantay while the affected commercial and school establishments are SM Annex, Cebuana Lhuillier, Toyota Balintawak Main Office, Handyware Phils Inc. (HPI), Quezon City Science High School,  Phil. College of Surgeons, Sioson General Hospital, Sioson College, Sto. Niño Parochial School,  Quezon City Academy as well as  the Dept of Education, Culture and Sports office and DSWD’s Home for the Aged.

Construction workers digging up in Elliptical Road corner North Avenue in Quezon City for a MMDA project damaged a PLDT underground cable  causing the cable trouble.

PLDT repair crews are now working round the clock to repair the damaged cable and restore service on or before Monday, March 19.
